Birmingham Bloomfield Chamber Appoints New Directors

Birmingham, Mich. Jan. 12, 2015 The Birmingham Bloomfield Chamber is pleased to announce Steven Kalczynski has been appointed to its Board of Directors for a three-year term.

Kalczynski is managing director for the Townsend Hotel in downtown Birmingham. He replaces Tracy Fashing, director of sales for the Townsend Hotel, who was term-limited after serving six years on the board.

“I certainly am enthusiastic about getting even further involved in the Birmingham community, where my wife and I now live, work and play. I see firsthand every day the vibrancy of our local business community, and I am eager to contribute to its growth as a new director of the BBC,” Kalczynski said.

In other appointments, Linda Hatfield was appointed board Chair for a two-year term, and Sunny Connelly was named to the board’s Executive Committee.

Hatfield is Vice President of Marketing at Birmingham Bloomfield Credit Union. She is an active member of the community as a member of the Birmingham Rotary Club, Altrusa and CECAC.

“I have been engaged in the Birmingham community for more than 20 years as an employee of Birmingham Bloomfield Credit Union, and I look forward to serving the next two years as Chair of the BBC. I appreciate the opportunity to contribute to the success of this great community,” said Hatfield.
Hatfield succeeds Bruce Kridler, SVP/Business Development Officer of Greenleaf Trust. Kridler was chairperson from 2012-2014 and a major contributor in securing new members, sponsorship and overall member retention and satisfaction.

Connolly is Senior Partner at Bingham Farms-based Patterson Bryant Group and has been a loyal Chamber member since 2008. He completed his first full term on the board in 2014.
“We are confident our new leadership will lend their talents and direction for a prosperous 2015,” said chamber President Joe Bauman. “We look forward to serving our membership, community and residents while exceeding expectations. The majority of our social events and educational programs are open to the public, so if your news year’s resolution is to expand your business network then check out our calendar of must attend events.”
