Public Policy

The Birmingham Bloomfield Chamber is the voice of the business community for the 6 communities we represent....on behalf of members we engage in public policy that supports the business climate, promotes economic development and sustains the quality of life in our 6 communities.

We do this thru our:
Public Policy and Economic Development Committee - This committee investigates and researches the local, state, and national issues that are important to the business and communities the Chamber serves. This task force is responsible for advising the Board and Membership and advocating positions on issues important to the Chamber membership, business and community. Additionally this committee is responsible for developing and implementing public policy on behalf of the Chamber.

Chamber's Annual Legislative Reception - each Spring, the Chamber invites our members and our elected officials from the Birmingham, Bloomfield Hills, Bloomfield Twp., Beverly Hills, Bingham Farms and the Village of Franklin, County, State and Federal levels to a informal networking event. This is a great way for our members to meet their elected officials and discuss issues with them.

Candidate Open Forum - when a local election is taking place, the Chamber organizes a Candidate Open Forum, for our members and residents to attend, in an effort to understand where the candidates stand on issues of importance to the community. Through a series of questions asked by a moderator, our candidates inform us of their positions on the issues.
