When did your business open?
June 1973

Tell us about your business, including the type of products or services you offer? We are a full service florist. We sell, arrange and deliver flowers and floral arrangements for every occasion from our brick and mortar shop that’s been in Birmingham for over 40 years. We are also a Haddonstone distributor, and we sell limestone urns and vessels that can weather the frigid winters.

What makes your business unique?
Tiffany celebrates the everyday. We love working with our clients on grand affairs- weddings, birthday bashes, Christmas galas. But we are here because life happens in between the big moments- anniversaries, birthdays, illness, promotions, bad days when you need a lift, celebrating new lives and commemorating the ones lost. Our clients return to us because we reliably take the everyday make it special.

How has the business changed since you opened it? When Tiffany Florist opened in 1973, the internet did not exist. Flowers were sold in a florist shop or a greenhouse/nursery, not in a grocery store next to the deli meats or dropped off at the front door in a cardboard box and left to be assembled by the recipient the way you would put together Lego’s. The world has changed dramatically since our opening, and with each new change, we have adjusted, grown and continued to be a part of the community.

Any advice for other business owners? The customer is always right. Even when they are categorically, fundamentally wrong, they have to be made to feel right.

What’s in store for the future? Valentine’s Day. Once that’s over, we can look a little farther down the line.

Do you partner with a member? We’ve partnered with The Pink Fund, The Sky Foundation, The Community House, Cameron’s Steakhouse, Hyde Park Steakhouse and the Townsend. We’re also big fans of Primo’s and Extreme Pizza.

Catch up with Bob Kuper and make sure your Valentine feel special!
