Baldwin Library Hosts LEGO Robot Challenge for Teens

BIRMINGHAM, MI (July 6, 2017) – Learn how to build and operate a LEGO Mindstorm Robot at the Baldwin Public Library’s Robot Challenge. With help from staff at Birmingham’s Robot Garage, teams of teens will work together to create a robot competitor for a high-energy Sumo Battle. The challenge will take place on Thursday, July 13 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.

The Robot Garage will offer instruction and materials to help guarantee a fun experience and a successful outcome for everyone. “This program will be fun whether you have experience with robotics or are just interested in learning,” said Elisabeth Phou, Teen Services Librarian. “I’m excited to offer an exciting high-energy program that is also educational.”

Registration for this program is required. Call the Adult Services department at 248-554-4650 or visit baldwinlib.org to register. This program is presented as part of the 2017 Teen Summer Reading Program, “Build a Better World.”

The Baldwin Public Library is located in downtown Birmingham at 300 W. Merrill Street. The Library’s hours are 9:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday, 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday.
