EVENT ADVISORY: BBAC EXTENDS SCHEDULE OF ANNUAL FAVORITE “HOLIDAY SHOP”

Boutique Open for More than Three Weeks of Shopping This Year, Dec, 1-22, 2016; Kicks Off with “Shop & Champagne” Celebration on Nov. 30, 2016

WHAT:           The Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center (BBAC) will host its annual Holiday Shop, where more than 3,500-square-feet of gallery space is transformed into a unique boutique with one-of-a-kind gift items created by more than 130 artists from Michigan and across the U.S.

For the first time ever, this year’s Holiday Shop will be open to customers for more than three weeks.

The BBAC Holiday Shop offers a variety of hand-made artisan pieces including: ceramics, jewelry, home décor, greeting cards, stationery, glass, paintings, candles, soaps, kitchenware and more.  Holiday Shop also offers assorted Judaica and an ornament gallery.

Holiday Shop kicks off each year with the Shop & Champagne preview party. The ticketed event includes shopping, a gourmet strolling supper from some of the area’s finest restaurants and champagne, cognac and wine bars.

Shop & Champagne attendees receive a 10 percent discount on all Holiday Shop purchases that evening, and all Shop & Champagne and Holiday Shop proceeds benefit the artists and BBAC’s ArtAccess and education programs.

Holiday Shop:  Dec. 1-22, 2016; 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Monday-Saturday; Noon – 4 p.m. Sundays

WHO:              The Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center, supported by the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs and the National Endowment for the Arts, has been providing “art for all” since 1957, and is a regional art center committed to promoting visual arts experiences.  Each year, more than 500 classes are offered for all skill levels and ages, preschool to senior citizens.  Throughout the year, nearly 9,000 individuals are served by classes, workshops, art camps, ArtAccess programs, special events and exhibitions that are free and open to the public.
