The Roeper School Opens New Learning Commons

roeper long

Birmingham, MI- On June 5, 2017, its Founders Day, The Roeper School held a ribbon cutting ceremony for the newly built Naas Commons. Following 1-1/2 years of construction and completion of phase I of a capital campaign, Middle School and Upper School students and faculty gathered with great anticipation in the new space comprised of a commons area, a state-of-the-art library, digital classroom, and collaboration areas.

Peter Roeper, son of founders George and Annemarie, participated in the ceremony, a fitting connection between the early history of the school to this transformative creation of a working, gathering and learning space which adds a new dimension to the use of technology at the school. Head of School, David Feldman, and Board Chair, Buck Baker, made brief remarks. Also present were Trustee John Sznewajs and Campaign Chair Donna Silk. Student representatives to the board of trustees, Joe Allen and Lukas Sznewajs, were especially eager to share the space with the rest of the school.

On June 15 at 5:00pm, the school will host an Open House for donors and families to experience the Naas Learning Commons located on the Birmingham Campus, 1051 Oakland, Birmingham.
