Carnival rides, games and plenty of food are all part of the package at the Birmingham Bloomfield Chamber’s 54th annual Birmingham Village Fair taking place June 1-4 at Shain Park.
Presented by United Shore, the fair takes place over four days around the streets of Shain Park and benefits more than 15 local charities, including the Bottomless Toy Chest, Birmingham Youth Assistance, and The Village Players.
“Not only is the Village Fair an important fundraiser for the Birmingham Bloomfield Chamber, but it really has become Birmingham’s unofficial start to summer,” Chamber President Joe Bauman said. “We love hearing stories from residents who tell us about how they remember going to the village fair with their parents and grandparents, and now they are bringing their children and grandchildren to what really is a community celebration.”
Fairgoers can save $5 by purchasing a ride voucher for $20 in advance in advance up to May 31. The vouchers can be purchased at www.bbcc.com or these locations: Birmingham Bloomfield Chamber at 725 S. Adams, Suite 130, in Birmingham; Birmingham Bloomfield Credit Union at 576 E. Lincoln in Birmingham; Bank of Ann Arbor at 33583 Woodward Ave., in Birmingham.
A voucher provides a guest with unlimited rides on one of the following days and times:
“We have distributed nearly $100,000 to local nonprofits in the past six years, and we could not do this without the generous support of our presenting sponsor, United Shore Financial Services and the carnival operator, North American Midway Entertainment,” Bauman said. “And we are grateful to the city of Birmingham for allowing us to use Shain Park and downtown Birmingham as the most incredible backdrop for the fair.”
