55th Birmingham Village Fair coming downtown May 31 – June 3
The 55th annual Birmingham Village Fair will be coming back to Downtown Birmingham May 31 – June 3.
The four-day event presented by United Shore and hosted by the Birmingham Bloomfield Chamber will feature carnival rides, games and food that all community members can enjoy. The fair will be on the streets surrounding Shain Park in Downtown Birmingham. Admission to the fair is free and
ride vouchers and tickets are available for purchase.
“The Chamber is proud to continue what has become an iconic event for the greater-Birmingham community,” Chamber President Joe Bauman said. “For 55 years multiple generations of families have enjoyed their neighborhood carnival, which also serves as a critical fundraiser for more than 20 local nonprofit organizations.”
In addition to being the Chamber’s major fundraiser, Bauman said local community groups like the Birmingham Family YMCA, Birmingham Youth Assistance and Birmingham Rotary Club also receive proceeds from the fair through a grant process.
“We have distributed more than $100,000 to local nonprofits in the past seven years, and we could not do this without the generous support of our presenting sponsor, United Shore Financial Services and the carnival operator, North American Midway Entertainment,” Bauman said. “And we are grateful to the city of Birmingham for allowing us to use Shain Park and downtown Birmingham as the most incredible backdrop for the fair.”
Ride vouchers for unlimited fair rides are available to purchase. Fair-goers can save $5 by purchasing a ride voucher for $20 in advance in advance up to May 31.
