Birmingham, Mich. – The Birmingham Bloomfield Chamber presented checks totaling $17,250 to more than a dozen nonprofit organizations for their hard work and dedication during the recently completed Birmingham Village Fair.
The 57th Birmingham Village Fair took place June 2-June 5 at Shain Park in downtown Birmingham. The four-day event featured carnival rides, games and food. This year, there were 15 nonprofits participating in the event. Members of these nonprofit groups volunteered to clean up the park grounds, working to create both a clean park and positive experience for everyone in attendance while promoting the nonprofit.
“The Chamber’s primary mission is to support the local business community, but our board of directors feels strongly we must also support the greater community by working with our nonprofit partners,” said Chamber President Joe Bauman. “Because of the outstanding support we receive from our carnival operator North American Midway Entertainment and our corporate sponsors led by Chief Financial Credit Union, the Chamber has gifted more than $100,000 in financial grants in the past six years alone to our nonprofit partners who work so diligently to maintain and improve the quality of life in our hometowns.”
The benefactors of this year’s Village Fair include the AAUW, BBChamber Foundation, Birmingham Bloomfield Community Coalition, Birmingham Command Officers Association, Birmingham Education Foundation, Birmingham Family YMCA, Birmingham Lions Club, Birmingham Optimist Club, Birmingham Police Officers Association, Birmingham Rotary Club, Birmingham Youth Assistance, Micah 6 Community, Sky Foundation, Inc., The Pink Fund, and the Village Players.
