BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP PUBLIC LIBRARY ANNOUNCES BOOGIE STOMP! CONCERT

Bloomfield Township, MI—September 12, 2018
Join us on Friday, September 21 at 7:00 p.m. at the Bloomfield Township Public Library for Boogie Stomp! Two of the best performers of American piano music in the world, Bob Baldori and Arthur Migliazza, will take you on a musical journey through 100 years of American piano music and have you dancing in the aisles! If you love blues, jazz, swing, stride, rhythm and blues, and/or rock and roll, then you’ll love Boogie Stomp!

Boogie Bob Baldori is a longstanding figurehead in the musical genres of blues, boogie, and rock in the Midwest with extensive musical skills and knowledge. At an early age he studied under Wayne State University’s Matt Michaels and was one of two students to receive a recommendation to attend the Detroit Institute of Musical Arts where he studied classical, jazz, and boogie. Bob has toured and recorded with Chuck Berry and has worked with many blues and rock legends, including Bo Diddley, John Hammond, Del Shannon and Muddy Waters, playing piano and harmonica. He has performed hundreds of dates in venues from Detroit to Chicago, Moscow to Rio, Los Angeles to New York, and the White House for President Clinton.

Award-winning Blues and Boogie Woogie pianist Arthur Migliazza began playing the piano professionally at a young age and came under the wing of such mentors and teachers as Henry Butler, Ann Rabson, and Mr. B. He was inducted into the Arizona Blues Hall of Fame and was a finalist at the 2010 and 2014 International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tennessee. Arthur has been performing for over 20 years and has played on some of the world’s greatest stages, including Tchaikovsky Hall in Moscow, the Glenn Gould Studio in Toronto, Benaroya Hall in Seattle, as well as on National Public Radio in the U.S. In 2014, he received the Best of the Blues Award for Best Keyboardist in Washington State, and his latest album appeared on the Grammy Entry List for the 2015 Grammy award nominations.

All are welcome to attend this free concert and no registration required. The Library is located at 1099 Lone Pine Road, (at Telegraph Road), Bloomfield Township, MI, 48302.
