ENGLISH GARDENS ROUND UP YOUR PURCHASE PROGRAM

Round Up for Charity

ANN ARBOR, Mich., September 27, 2017 – English Gardens is hosting a fundraiser for the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute to support breast cancer research during October’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

To raise funds, English Gardens is asking customers to round up their purchases to the nearest whole dollar or more, and 100% of the money raised will be donated to Karmanos.  The fundraiser will be held October 1-31.  Breast Cancer Awareness Month is an annual campaign to increase awareness about prevention, early detection and cancer research to help end this devastating disease.

“We launched our ‘Round Up Your Purchase’ program in August, and have received a very positive response from customers,” explains John Darin, English Gardens president. “We’ve partnered with the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute in the past and have raised more than $ 46,000 for breast cancer research.”

“We are truly grateful for the continued generosity of the English Gardens’ family and the outstanding support by its loyal customers whose donations help raise awareness of this disease and fuel the cancer research program at Karmanos Cancer Institute,” said Katrina Studvent, chief development officer, Karmanos Cancer Institute.

“As an 11 year breast cancer survivor who was treated at Karmanos, I’m keenly aware of how important it is to have a great team of cancer experts, and how critical breast cancer research is for the advancement of new therapies to help those with this disease survive.”

“This year alone in Michigan, it’s estimated that 8,160 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer.  Your collective support will make a huge difference for the women, and men, fighting to survive this disease. Thank you for your generosity.”
