In the Park Summer Concerts Coming Soon in Shain Park

BIRMINGHAM, MI, June 7, 2018 –Shain Park will soon come alive with music during the In the Park Summer Concert series. The series kicks off with the Birmingham Bloomfield Community Coalition Youth Action Board’s Teen Summer Concert on Friday, June 15 at 7 p.m. During this safe, fun and substance-free event, local high school students celebrate the end of school with a performance in Shain Park.

Throughout the series the community is invited to bring a blanket or lawn chair, kick off their shoes and enjoy performances by local bands playing a wide variety of music genres. Regular concerts will be held Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m. from June 20 – August 15. Special afternoon concerts will be held on July 11 and August 1 from 12 p.m. – 2 p.m.

“The In the Park Summer Concert series is a long-standing tradition in Birmingham and we’re looking forward to bringing another great line-up of bands to Shain Park,” said Birmingham Director of Public Services, Lauren Wood. “We encourage the community to come out and enjoy both afternoon and evening concerts this summer.”

Shain Park is located at Merrill and Bates; parking is available at the Chester or Pierce Street Parking Structures (the first two hours are free in all parking structures).
