Meet your firefighters at Birmingham Fire Dept. Open House on Saturday, October 13 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Annual event includes safety tips and culminates

 Fire Prevention Week that runs from Oct. 7-13

BIRMINGHAM, Mich., October 2, 2018 – Watch live fire demonstrations and learn about fire safety at the Birmingham Fire Department’s annual open house event on Saturday, October 13 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Adams Fire Station located at 572 South Adams. Attendees will enjoy live vehicle extrication demonstrations, bounce houses, a smoke house and more! Firefighters will be serving their famous fire house chili, along with fresh cider and donuts.

Brand new this year Beaumont Hospital will pass out informational pamphlets and answer questions about stroke and stroke prevention. Also new this year, children will enjoy having their faces painted throughout the event. Both young and old will enjoy operating a fire hose.

“Our open house is a great time and an opportunity for community members to learn valuable safety tips that could be life-saving,” said Birmingham Fire Chief John Connaughton. “We hope to see everyone on October 13th as we wrap up Fire Prevention Week.”
