The Ferndale Area Chamber of Commerce celebrated its member businesses and organizations at the annual Gala, which was held Thursday, November 12. The Gala recognized the accomplishments and growth of the Ferndale area of 2015, granting awards to noted individuals and organizations in the area.

The Gala was held at the Twist Night Club in Ferndale. The theme “Roll Out the Red Carpet,” honored the outstanding businesses and organizations of the region and paid tribute to exceptional members in a fabulous Ferndale area fashion. Highlights of the evening included a silent auction with items and services from the Chamber’s excellent members and other local businesses. The awards ceremony applauded members who went above and beyond in their business and in contributions to the community. Attendees enjoyed sparkling wine, hors d’oeuvres, live international jazz from Sean Blackman, and lively company of community members. Flowers and décor were provided by Blumz…by J.R. Designs.

The winners included Business Person of the year, Brian Kramer of Rosie O’Grady’s. New business of the year was awarded to Robert Bales and Matt Russell of LocalHop. The best of the Ferndale Area was awarded to active8 gaming. The Special Service award went to Robbin Yelverton of Blumz…by JR Designs. The Volunteer of the year award went to Pamela Bellaver. The Ferndale Area Chamber is very proud of its outstanding members, their contributions to the community, and their notable successes.

The Gala honored past directors of the Ferndale Area Chamber of Commerce Board that evening, which were Gary Meier, Ryan Meray and Frank Lanzkron-Tamarazo.

Twist Night Club is located in the heart of downtown Ferndale. The club harmonizes a chic and modern design, a state of the art sound and lighting system, a friendly staff, and one of the largest dance floors in Metro Detroit.

The Ferndale Area Chamber is a nonprofit, member-based organization that has been serving as the cornerstone of the Ferndale business community for more than 75 years by promoting commerce and economic development.
