Tree Lighting and Holiday Gifts at Birmingham Winter Markt November 30 – Dec. 2, Shain Park

BIRMINGHAM, MI, November 16, 2018 – Downtown Birmingham’s Shain Park will transform into a charming European market during the Birmingham Winter Markt from November 30th through December 2nd. The park will be illuminated with more than 60 booths featuring traditional holiday crafts and decorations, art from local artisans, home décor and more. Attendees will find truly unique gifts for loved ones at this event.

On opening night, Friday, November 30th at 6 p.m., the community will come together with Santa and Birmingham’s Mayor for live caroling and the lighting of Birmingham’s 35-foot blue spruce with more than 40,000 LED lights. Topping off the magic, attendees can climb aboard a free horse-drawn carriage for an illuminated tour through the decorated downtown Birmingham area throughout the holiday season.

Birmingham Winter Markt attendees will enjoy European food and drinks, gift items, holiday greens, ice sculptures, live reindeer, warming stations, a Kinderhaus children’s activity area, the popular Santa House and live entertainment. Throughout the weekend local school choirs will perform live at the event. Dancing acts will be displayed by the Scottish Highland Dance School and Next Step Triple Threats. The Village Youth Theater’s cast of Aladdin, carolers from Blue Crow Talent and the Birmingham Concert Band will also take the stage. Attendees could win tickets to see Rent at the Fisher Theatre.
